The Date Was a Cluster
If you’ve been to Nashville, you know about the city’s iconic Goo Goo Cluster candy. But until last week, I didn’t realize their flagship store downtown offers candy-making classes.
This was an experience I’d highly recommend for visitors, a special occasion, or a date night. The instructor Inga was knowledgable and patient, and participating in the entire candy-making process was surprisingly fun!
Participants are given a chocolate dome-shaped mold and are able to select their filling from many options.
Possibilities abound for creative flavor combos. I was very pleased with my picks:
Bourbon caramel
Vanilla nougat
Rice Krispies
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Pretzels
Once you fill your chocolate shell, you get to watch a pro candy-maker seal the bottom with a liquid chocolate layer before it goes in the freezer to cool off.
The class I took was the traditional Taste of Goo Goo, and the other classes are Goos & Boos, Secrets of Goo Goo, and Bubbles & Bon Bons.
